KO2's client, a global leader in cutting-edge vehicle and asset telematics, is seeking an experienced electronics engineer to join their Belfast-based team. With a workforce of 250 globally (55 in Belfast), this German corporate specializes in IoT solutions for trucks, LTE, BLE, wireless communication systems, and telematic devices.
The company's innovative products provide real-time data on vehicle behaviour, driving style, location, and asset tracking. From solar-powered tracking devices to video telematics and advanced sensing devices, their next-generation solutions are revolutionizing the transportation and logistics industries.
About the Role
As a senior electronics engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of telematics and IoT devices. Your expertise will contribute to creating solutions that integrate GNSS, cellular modules, BLE, CAN protocols, and various sensors. You'll work on Altium-based hardware design, ensuring seamless operation across battery-powered and solar-powered devices.
This role offers exposure to diverse projects, including:
Asset management telematics - solar-powered tracking with BLE/RS232 integration.
Vehicle information and telematics - leveraging CANbus for driving style, location, and braking insights.
Video telematics - supporting dashcams and front-end web interfaces.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electronics engineer in designing IoT devices or telematic solutions.
- Proficiency in GNSS, LTE/cellular modules, BLE, CAN protocols, and sensor integration.
- Strong experience with Altium for PCB design and layout.
- Background in developing battery-powered or solar-powered devices.
- Knowledge of RS232 communication and wireless technologies is a plus.
